Role Overview

This role focuses on building and improving the reliability of the Roblox game engine. You will work on detecting, mitigating, and automating responses to engine incidents, with a strong focus on performance and crash metrics. The position involves solving complex real-time engine issues at scale spanning multiple platforms and server environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reliability-focused engine features to detect and automatically prevent regressions.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and root cause engine crashes using debugging tools, telemetry, and investigative techniques.
  • Automate workflows to detect issues early and improve engine stability over time.
  • Respond to time-sensitive issues with composure and technical clarity.
  • Collaborate across platforms and server teams to resolve reliability issues.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, C++, TypeScript, or C#.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and telemetry logs to identify patterns and root causes.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environments with evolving priorities.
