Job Description
Job Title: Security Engineer Company: Seesaw Company Domain: EdTech (K–12 Education) Years of Experience: 3+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Security Engineering Location: Amman, Jordan (Remote) Role Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive compensation (based on experience, location, and internal equity; not disclosed) Eligibility: Candidates with strong AWS security experience, comfort working across time zones, and availability for a split work schedule (Sun–Mon 9am–5pm, Tue–Thu 12 pm–8 pm local time) Role Overview: Embed security directly into Seesaw’s infrastructure and development workflows by building automated, secure-by-default systems. This role bridges Engineering and Security, focusing on enablement, automation, and technical guardrails that allow teams to move fast while maintaining strong security foundations at scale. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain automated security controls across AWS, CI/CD, and application infrastructure; collaborate with Engineering and bug bounty participants to mitigate vulnerabilities; improve the Seesaw Learning Platform codebase for secure-by-default development; enhance Infrastructure-as-Code configurations; integrate scanning, alerting, and compliance checks into development workflows; improve observability through logging, alerting, and vulnerability pipelines; automate SOC 2 and risk-management evidence collection; provide secure architecture guidance, threat modeling, and incident response readiness. Skills and Qualifications: 3+ years in DevOps, Cloud, or Security Engineering; deep expertise in AWS services (IAM, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, ECS, Lambda, S3, KMS); experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Troposphere, AWS CDK); proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar); hands-on security scanning for code, dependencies, and containers; strong scripting skills in Python or Bash; excellent time management and organizational skills; collaborative mindset with experience working across distributed teams and time zones.
