Eligibility

• PhD / MTech / BE / BTech / MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field
• 10+ years of industrial experience in Search, Information Retrieval, NLP, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics solution development and deployment

Role Overview

The role focuses on leading the development and optimization of enterprise search systems and AI/ML-driven solutions across large-scale product repositories. You will head a team of search engineers, design taxonomy, ontology, and metadata frameworks, and architect search & retrieval systems to improve customer experience across loan, insurance, and investment product portfolios.

This is a senior technical leadership role, requiring a balance of hands-on coding, AI/ML solution design, cross-functional program management, and stakeholder collaboration. You will also drive innovation through proof-of-concepts, research adoption, and scalable system design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and management of search systems and indices for large-scale document/product repositories.
• Architect taxonomy, thesaurus, tagging, and ontology models to standardize and enhance customer search experience.
• Analyze customer behavior and web metrics to refine search models and improve relevance.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with product owners, engineers, and business leaders across Loans, Insurance, and Investments.
• Expand and refine data retrieval techniques and improve catalog/data quality.
• Build, test, and integrate machine learning models into enterprise solutions.
• Develop and validate POCs for new AI/ML initiatives.
• Collaborate with vendors/partners for capability and product delivery.
• Mentor and guide teams in ML, NLP, Computer Vision, Speech Analytics, and Data Modeling.
• Stay current with AI/ML research and drive next-gen AI/ML service design and prototyping.
• Ensure adherence to industry best practices, design patterns, and scalable architectures.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

• Strong coding expertise in Python, Java, Scala, Shell/Perl
• Experience with Search platforms (Lucene, Elasticsearch, Solr)
• Hands-on with statistical & ML frameworks (Python, R, SAS, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, Web Services, and authentication (SSO, token-based)
• SQL & NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB, Cassandra, MongoDB)
• DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, Gradle) and Agile methodologies
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Spark, distributed systems, and scalable analytics
• Experience with web servers (Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss) and Linux environments
• OOP principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices
