Role Overview

The Email Deliverability Specialist (System Engineer – Team Lead) will be responsible for ensuring the health, monitoring, and optimization of end-to-end email delivery processes. The role requires a deep technical understanding of mail transfer systems, ISP relations, blacklists, and deliverability monitoring tools, combined with strong team leadership, client engagement, and troubleshooting skills. You will manage a team, build processes and SOPs, and serve as a subject matter expert to ensure high inbox placement rates, effective customer onboarding, and compliance with global email standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and maximize email delivery performance across ISPs and platforms.
• Keep up with evolving email marketing industry standards and proactively apply best practices.
• Conduct daily/weekly delivery spot checks, analyzing gateway acceptance and performance metrics.
• Investigate and mitigate deliverability issues (blocks, spam foldering, blacklist removal, IP/domain warm-up).
• Use tools such as SAS CI 360, SparkPost, 250ok, eDataSource, and Email On Acid for monitoring and optimization.
• Manage and mentor the team, provide training, build SOPs, and oversee escalations.

Skills and Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in CSE, ECE, or related fields.
• 6–9 years of experience in email deliverability, system engineering, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of Linux server OS and database systems (MySQL, ClickHouse, etc.).
• Familiarity with Networking, DNS, MTAs (Postfix, PMTA), and IP/domain warmup.
• Hands-on experience with email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, FBLs).
• Expertise in blacklist monitoring, RBL removals, and ISP relations.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Strong understanding of global compliance regulations (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR).
• Experience with 3rd-party deliverability tools (250ok, SparkPost, eDataSource, Email On Acid).
