• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Strong portfolio showcasing design systems and scalable product design work
• Proven experience designing for both desktop and mobile platforms
• Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments

Role Overview-

We are hiring a Senior / Staff Product Designer to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of Nykaa’s multi-brand Design System (Lumi) and internal CMS platform (Display Network). This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on building scalable, accessible, and efficient design systems that power both customer-facing and internal products.

You will take a systems-thinking approach, ensuring consistency and usability across the product ecosystem while treating design systems and internal tools as products with their own users—designers, developers, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities-

Design System

• Own the design, evolution, and maintenance of the visual language including typography, color, iconography, and UI components
• Build and manage scalable design systems and component libraries in Figma
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including usage guidelines and implementation best practices
• Conduct UI and design audits to identify inconsistencies and drive improvements
• Champion accessibility standards across design and engineering teams
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure adoption and alignment
• Lead retrospectives and gather feedback from senior stakeholders to evolve the system
• Establish workflows, best practices, and processes to improve efficiency and creative output
• Maintain documentation and ensure clarity in system usage
• Present design vision, systems, and processes across teams and leadership

Skills and Qualifications-

• Strong expertise in Design Systems and scalable UI architecture
• Deep understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and usability
• Proficiency in tools like Figma (component libraries, tokens, systems thinking)
• Experience designing modular, reusable components for large-scale products
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
