Eligibility

• PhD / MTech / BE / BTech / MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Econometrics, or any quantitative field
• Minimum 3+ years of industrial experience in Search, Information Retrieval, NLP, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics solution development and deployment

Role Overview

The primary focus of this role is to develop and manage search system applications that optimize customer experience across large-scale product repositories. The role involves maintaining/upgrading search indices, building taxonomy/ontology data models, and driving AI/ML-based enhancements for information retrieval.

You will collaborate across loan, insurance, and investment product teams, engage in cross-functional projects, and deliver machine learning-driven solutions to improve search, metadata, and customer data quality. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, program management capability, and self-driven problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain search indices for large document repositories; optimize queries and analytics.
• Lead taxonomy, thesaurus, ontology, and tagging initiatives to improve structured search.
• Analyze website/customer behavior data to refine and optimize search models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product owners, engineers, designers, leadership) to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Build and integrate AI/ML models into enterprise platforms.
• Create and validate proof of concepts (POCs) for emerging solutions.
• Stay current with AI/ML research and design prototypes for next-gen user experiences.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers in machine learning, NLP, computer vision, and data modeling.
• Collaborate with vendors/partners in a technical capacity to deliver business solutions.

Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

• Strong programming in Python, Java, Scala, Shell/Perl
• Experience with Search technologies (Elasticsearch, Solr, Lucene-based engines)
• Hands-on with statistical/ML frameworks (Python, R, SAS, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, Web Services, JSON, and authentication protocols
• SQL and NoSQL (Cosmos DB, Cassandra, MongoDB) database integration
• Familiarity with DevOps (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, Gradle) and Agile environments
• Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) and distributed systems (Spark)
• Experience with Linux environments, OOP, and design patterns
• Exposure to front-end frameworks (React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3) (good to have)
