Role Overview

As a Security Engineer at Roblox, you will join a world-class engineering organization solving some of the most complex problems in modern technology—including large-scale distributed systems, real-time communication, 3D co-experiences, social networking, and data protection. You will work with empathy and respect for the worldwide Roblox community while helping secure systems at a massive scale.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, analyze, and mitigate security risks across Roblox systems and infrastructure.

Design, build, test, and deploy secure software features and tools.

Develop and maintain security systems protecting all layers of the Roblox tech stack.

Collaborate across cross-functional engineering, product, and security teams to implement best-in-class cybersecurity practices.

Contribute to security innovation in areas such as application security, network security, cloud security, and threat detection.

Skills & Qualifications

Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in:

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity

Information Technology or related fields, Hands-on familiarity with cybersecurity concepts gained through:

Internships

Capture-the-Flag (CTF) competitions

Academic experience

Previous work or personal security projects

Proficiency in at least one programming language:

GoLang, Python, or Rust

Knowledge in Any of the Following Areas

  • Application Security
  • Network Security
  • Data Security & Privacy
  • Detection Engineering
  • Cloud Security Concepts
  • Identity & Access Management
  • Infrastructure Hardening
  • Detective Controls
  • Industry Best Practices in Enterprise Security

Preferred/Bonus

  • Interest or experience in cryptography and threat modeling
